Professional Experience
Optum (United Health Group) June 2010 to Present

Product Consultant/ Manager of PBM Product

·     Led numerous projects through the Software Development Life Cycle as part of the process of adding $10 billion in new client businesses
·     Created proof-of-concept prototypes, use cases and entity relationship diagrams (ERD); followed established SDLC methodologies, performed GAP analysis, and managed scope and deliverables
·     Authored employee training courseware, conducted instructor-led courses, and acted as a subject matter expert & mentor for new employees
·     Authored the functional specifications for a high profile pharmacy benefit management (PBM) project that generates up to $3 million of additional revenue per month
·     Enabled the processing of over 30,000 prescription drug claims per month by writing the functional specifications for a public sector project that interfaced real-time patient deductible information with a pharmacy benefit management claims application to meet state Medicare compliance

Projects Summary:
Managed four concurrent projects (New Point of Sale System, Consumer Credit Card Application System, Employee Performance Review System, Employee Email Technology) from project initiation, requirements gathering, cost estimations, procurement of funding, design, development, testing, deployment and project closure. Worked with cross functional teams in these projects with resources managed by outside vendors as part of Managed-Services business model. Collaborated with offshore and onshore resources to develop necessary project development/artifacts and ensured work efforts completed accordingly within the approved plan.  Conducted periodic status meetings with stakeholders and project teams to measure progress; identify issues and risks making use of project schedules developed in MS project. Utilized IT development experience to communicate better with IT application teams interpreting and implementing proposed solutions.

  • Managed successfully concurrent enterprise IT projects.   • As the project manager, adapted a new project management development life cycle process called IT Unified Process (ITUP) which unified the different processes of all affiliated businesses.  Coordinated the necessary trainings and implementation of the process across all members of the team.  Reviewed, managed and oversaw project deliverables as needed.  Managed successfully multiple Enterprise IT projects simultaneously.  Completed and delivered the projects on time. 
  • Lead the conversion of offshore development team from one vendor to another. Project included Application knowledge transfer activities, shadow and reverse shadow application development training and steady-state implementation.
  • Provided leadership and insight to Store turnaround overcoming the annual net loss of more than $400,000 in the first year and delivering a profitable model for the first time in company history. This victory was the result of an evaluation of brick-and-mortar operations, inventory consolidation, redesign of online store, complete overhaul to the pricing and merchandising strategy, consolidation of vendor base, and renegotiation of supplier contracts.
  • Performed risk evaluation, reviewed design, program development, planned and performed audits, created reports, making sure that deliverables are according to the plan.
